Building a Magazine:
A 7 Year Backstory in 4 minutes.
Posted April 7th, 2013 by Blueprint Saints Magazine
Getting this baby started wasn't easy. It was actually "7 Years Not Easy".
What started as a project with a handful of comic creators turned into a revolution in the way things are done in a new comic environment, and the realization that what was happening was the beginning of The Open Age of Comics.

Origin Story Redux: 2014
The Reality in 7 minutes.
Posted July 20th, 2012 by Blueprint Saints Magazine
In 2012, footage from 7 years of internal communications of the production of Blueprint Saints Magazine was reedited across the original control track of the 2005 vision statement of Blueprint Saints Magazine. What is revealing of this "REDUX CUT" is that line-item, each step of the 2005 vision process has taken place.
Not knowing in 2005 that it was truly possible to get 124 comic creators recruited from one city in the United States, a vision was cast for what it would take to get the project going. This recut in 2012 from 2005-2012 footage is a direct reveal of a very alive, real and vibrant project.

VENUE 4: EVERGREEN
Evergreen: The Writers Team
Never underestimate a writer. We made out magazine a publication that could engage people on the visual fronts, we wanted the written word just as much. It is the marriage of comic creators with great writers that tells the compelling stories that readers want and deserve.
VENUE 8: FAKE ADS
Fake Ads
We built the first Open Age Magazine, and it's founded as a free publication for the public. To get this in print, we could have either gone for-profit and taken ads, or run an ad-free publication. We thought it best to stay free, but to also thumb out noses at the entire idea of ads with fake ones.
VENUE 11: OUR SPACE
Our Space
Augmented reality is just getting going. Because Blueprint Saints Magazine is a print publication, we knew we wanted to play with QR Codes and 3D images that overlay from our print publication. What's exciting is that with the emergence of Google's 3D Glasses and mobile Internet, print just got a new life when it comes to interacting with new technologies. Imagine print everywhere and that digital devices react to it. That's the future to us.
Open ComicWare
Revolutionary Software. Revolutionary ideas. All free & Open Source. Nice!
Open ComicWare is a set of tools that will be given to comic creators that will allow them to make products with some amazing things we've collected that allow for fast-tracking their work. While this isn't a venue, and probably shouldn't be listed here, it's just too cool not to. Check it out at:
